Introduction to GPAT

GPAT 2019: A national level exam, GPAT or Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test is conducted by newly formed National Testing Agency (NTA) for admissions to Master’s (M.Pharm) programmes in the country. Students who clear the exam will be eligible for admissions to AICTE approved colleges accepting GPAT scores in India. Earlier this exam was conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The exam is conducted for admissions to 25000 seats of MPharma programmes offered by as many as 850 participating pharmacy institutes. GPAT is held in the last week of January through an online test.

Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants interested in appearing for GPAT 2019 must be an Indian citizen. 

Aspirants interested in appearing for GPAT 2019 must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2, including lateral entry students) or equivalent from a recognised University. 

Aspirants who are in the final year of B. Pharmacy course will also be eligible to appear for GPAT 2019 exam provided they submit the passing certificate or marksheet within the time frame set by individual institutions. 

Exam Pattern

The GPAT 2019 Examination will be held online. The Examination will be following an Exam Pattern which will be consisting of various components. The Appearing candidates are requested to go through the exam pattern prior to appearing, in the examination.   • Number of Questions: 125
  • Questions Type: MCQ
  • Time Duration: 3:00 Hours
  • Total Marks: 500 MM
  • Marking Scheme:
    • Candidates will get +4 marks for every correctly answered question.
    • For every incorrect answer, the candidates will be receiving -1 marks.
